Perfect Attendance Award

Video: Dr. Barnette, David Wiggins with Premier Bank surprise Samantha Drake at Fairview Elementary

Good attendance is the foundation of doing well in school, and later in life... doing well on the job. Simply put, you can't perform well if you're not there. That is why Dr. Shane Barnette and the Cullman County Board of Education partnered with Premier Bank of the South to help improve attendance in our schools.

Following the first nine weeks, the Central Office ran a report to see how many employees had perfect attendance. Of the 212, we randomly selected three to win a $500 gift card sponsored by Premier Bank.

"I was excited when Premier Bank approached me about partnering with them to provide incentives for attendance," said Dr. Shane Barnette, Cullman County School Superintendent. "We know that several schools offer incentives for students' attendance but none offer incentives for employee attendance.  At the end of this current semester, we will have another drawing for students and employees with perfect attendance," said Barnette.

The winners, again, were randomly selected. Congratulations to the following employees:

"Premier Bank of the South is a hometown bank, meaning that we live, work, and worship in our communities," said David Wiggins, Director of Marketing and Public Relations for Premier Bank of the South. "We respect and value our educators, and all school employees, understanding the vital role that they have in shaping our citizens and communities of the future. We are proud to provide this attendance incentive for the employees of Cullman County Schools."

"Having good attendance is so important in school and the workplace," said Barnette. "Many business and industry leaders share about struggles with employee attendance and if we can help model and support good attendance while students are in school, maybe it will help when they are in the workforce."
